Microsoft Internet Explorer

General description
Who doesn't recognize the little blue "e" on a Windows-computer? For many users, the little blue "e" still is a synonym for "internet". The browser exists already for many years and is the most used browser worldwide. The reason for this, was that Windows was standard accompanied by Internet Explorer so users of Windows would always have a browser to use.
But since many users are happy enough with their standard browser Internet Explorer (or even don't know of the existence of alternatives), Internet Explorer still keeps a large amount of the market share. It is considered as one of the most unsafe browsers because of its huge market share. Although this is not the direct fault of bugs in Internet Explorer, this leads to many recommendations from people to use another browser.
Though, Internet Explorer is a fast browser which does everything a basic web browser needs with some little extra's. Almost every browser is optimised for use in Internet Explorer so you can be sure to have quite a trouble-free surfing experience. If you are a safe surfer and don't click on every blinking button on a website, Internet Explorer is actually quite safe to use unlike many think.
Notable features for Internet Explorer

What others say about Internet Explorer
Drawbacks aside, there's no reason to not upgrade if you're an old fan of IE, and there's even a few things in IE 8 for new users.Source: CNET
